Papa鈥檚 research interests are on bacteriophage (bacterial viruses) ecology, aquaculture, therapy, and systematics. Her researches focus on bacterial viruses as alternatives to antibiotics, as a response to the increase rate of antibiotic resistance among patients. She earned her doctorate degree in biological sciences in 2018 and is a faculty member of the .
